Dental Bridges at Silverlake Dental Group

If you have one or more missing teeth and you are concerned about the appearance of your smile, dental bridges might be the right option for you. At Silverlake Dental Group, we are committed to transforming your smile with the quality dental care you deserve. We offer dental bridges to fill in the gaps left behind by missing teeth, restoring your ability to speak and chew properly, and preventing your teeth from shifting out of position. Dental bridges are made up of abutment teeth that anchor the appliance in place with false teeth, called pontics, inbetween. If you want to replace missing teeth without invasive dental implants, you may be the right candidate for dental bridges.

What Happens During the Procedure for Dental Bridges?

During your first appointment for your dental bridge, we will prepare your abutment teeth by recontouring them as needed to make enough room for the appliance. Impressions of your teeth will be made and sent to a dental lab. When the lab is done producing your dental bridge, you will come in for a second appointment where we will check if the bridge fits comfortably and make any adjustments if needed. Once we are satisfied with the results, we will cement the dental bridge into place, fully restoring your smile.

Caring for Your Dental Bridge

Dental bridges can last over 10 years with proper care and maintenance. There are many things you can do at home to ensure that you receive long-lasting results. These include:

  • Maintain good oral hygiene and avoid gum disease
  • Brush and floss regularly and clean areas between the teeth and bridge
  • Come in for regular check-ups and cleanings

Your dental bridge could fail if you do not properly care for your oral health. However, over time, your dental bridge can become worn out. If you are experiencing any issues with your dental bridge, contact our office right away.
