Ultrasonic Cleaning Technology

Faster, gentler cleanings

Silverlake Dental Group uses ultrasonic cleaning technology during hygiene visits. A slim tip vibrates at a high frequency while water cools it and flushes away loosened plaque, tartar and bacteria.

Why it helps

Ultrasonic cleaning removes heavy buildup with less scraping, reaches below the gumline and can shorten the time needed for a thorough cleaning. The water flow also helps rinse bacteria out of gum pockets.

What to expect

You will feel a light vibration and hear a soft hum. If your teeth are sensitive, tell your hygienist: the power can be adjusted and breaks are easy to take. Hand instruments are still used for fine finishing.
