Get Dental Pain Relief from Root Canal Treatment

If you are experiencing severe pain in your tooth or you see a visible abscess on your gums, you may need root canal therapy. When you have a dental cavity that is left untreated, the decay can travel deeper into your enamel and into the pulp. The pulp of your tooth houses all of the nerves, blood vessels, and connective tissue within your teeth. When the pulp becomes inflamed or infected, you will experience severe pain. At Silverlake Dental Group, we offer root canal therapy to restore your tooth and relieve the pain.

What Are the Signs that You May Need a Root Canal?

There are many signs that indicate that you may need a root canal, with the most obvious being dental pain. Some other symptoms include:

  • You are experiencing tooth sensitivity to temperature
  • You notice an abscess on your gums
  • You have a severely cracked or damaged tooth that has changed color

If you are experiencing any of the above signs or symptoms, contact our office today for treatment. We can help ease the pain and stop the decay from spreading.

What to Expect During the Procedure for Root Canal Therapy

At the start of the appointment, we will apply a local anesthetic to ensure that you are comfortable throughout the entire procedure. We will then create an opening on your tooth to gain access to the pulp. The pulp will be removed and the chamber of your tooth will be cleaned and disinfected. We will then seal off the area and place a temporary filling. A crown will need to be placed in order to protect the tooth. Multiple visits may be needed for treatment depending on the degree of damage.
