WHAT COUNTS AS A DENTAL EMERGENCY?

If you’re unsure whether your situation requires urgent care, the answer is simple: if it’s causing you significant pain, swelling, or bleeding — or if something has broken, fallen out, or feels wrong — call us. We’d rather you call and find out it can wait than delay treatment that needs to happen today.

WHAT TO DO BEFORE YOU COME IN

Severe toothache — Rinse with warm salt water. Do not place aspirin directly on the tooth or gum. Over-the-counter pain relievers like ibuprofen can help manage discomfort. Call us immediately.
Knocked-out tooth — Pick it up by the crown, not the root. Rinse gently without scrubbing. Place it back in the socket if possible, or store it in milk or between your cheek and gum. Time is critical — get to us within 30–60 minutes for the best chance of saving the tooth.
Cracked or broken tooth — Rinse with warm water. Apply a cold compress to reduce swelling. Avoid chewing on that side. Call us right away.
Lost crown or filling — Dental cement from a pharmacy can temporarily protect the exposed tooth. Don’t use super glue. Call us to get it properly replaced.
Dental abscess or swelling — Do not ignore this. A dental abscess is a bacterial infection that can spread to your jaw, neck, or even your airway if left untreated. If you have swelling, fever, or difficulty swallowing or breathing, seek care immediately.
